"This place was absolutely fantastic, it was our first time in Weymouth and this place was perfect. The owners were very welcoming, the room was spacious and the views were amazing. It’s in a premium location right by the seafront and a nice cooked to order breakfast is served in the mornings."

"This hotel was perfect for our stay. As we arrived at Weymouth Esplanade by coach, we literally crossed the road to reach the Cumberland. We were very impressed by the security as the front door can be only be accessed via a Yale lock from which you can later gain access with your room key. There is an intercom system where we were able to announce our arrival and we were then greeted with a friendly smile and a handshake by our host. The rooms were more than adequate in size. I had a single occupancy in a double room with a sea view. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely white crisp sheets, plenty of tea and coffee facilities (loved the little biscuits) and clean towels. My parents had an enormous twin room with a very modern shower room. Admittedly, no sea view but this wasn't important for our stay as the peacefulness of the room more than made up for that. The breakfast room was wonderfully light and airy with a continental feel to it. There was a wonderful select"

"My husband and I had a really nice stay at The Richmoor last week, it’s nice family run hotel and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and it’s ideally located on the promenade, parking was limited but there was parking across the road at just £1 for the night. We really enjoyed the breakfast in the mornings and would highly recommend this place."

"We stayed here for a couple of nights and we had a pleasant stay. The room was clean with nice decor and a comfy bed, there was also a pool which was great. The food served in the restaurant was very good and breakfast was lovely too. The outside of the hotel does look like it’s in need of an overhaul but all in all this place proved to be a good choice."

Weymouth, a seaside town located in Dorset, is famous for its idyllic beaches and breath-taking coastline, as well for its wide array of watersports. It also has a rich historical and cultural heritage, a beautiful marine and varied wildlife.
Popular attractions include Nothe Fort, a beautifully-restored Victorian fort that offers stunning views of the town and the Isle of Portland. Visitors can enjoy more panoramic views of this typical seaside town, Portland, Chesil Beach and the Jurassic coastline from atop the Sea Life Tower. Nature lovers are sure to enjoy the two nature reserves; Weymouth Sea Life Park, with its displays of beautiful marine life and its serene outdoor walkways and the butterfly reserves located on Portland. The amazing works of world-renowned sand sculptors are to be seen at Sandworld and with a bit of luck, it may even be possible to watch them in action. Shoppers will not be disappointed with the wide selection of retail shops, specialty shops and individual boutiques.
On the sporting scene, Weymouth is best known for water-sports, such as windsurfing, diving, sailing and kite surfing. Many beach sporting events are organised throughout the year, including beach volleyball and handball, beach motocross and kite festivals. Away from beach sports, Weymouth FC & South Dorset Giants are the towns major sporting clubs.
While Weymouth is predominantly a tourist destination, with tourism playing a large role in its economy, fishing and trading also play important roles. The popular Harbour, on the River Wey, is home to large fishing fleets and has several docks and unloading areas for cargo.
