"The hotel is in a great location, nice and quiet but a short walk into the centre, ideal. Staff are nice and friendly, breakfast is good. My room was comfortable and clean with the usual mod cons. The weather was good and I had cooling drink in the garden. I would happily return."

"I loved everything about our overnight stay here. The only small gripe was no parking but we parked just a couple of minutes walk away.
Our room was fab, well furnished, decorated and equipped.
Food was excellent quality at night and at breakfast.
The location is good, within easy walking distance of the town centre and cathedral.
Recommended."

"I booked to stay at this inn as I was on business in the Durham area. On arrival I was welcomed by the owner and the shown to my room. My room was clean although a bit dated, but I believe renovations are underway. I ate at the restaurant and the food was pretty good, so I would book to stay again in future."

"An excellent value for money stay. We had a friendly welcome, our room was comfortable, clean and equipped with every requirement. Breakfast in the morning was very good. The location is good, a short drive or a bit longer using the bus which is every ten minutes. A nice pub next door too. A perfectly adequate B&B away from the hustle and bustle."

"Stayed when exporting Durham and Northumberland, and the cottage was lovely and peaceful. It was pristine clean, bright and airy, with comfy beds, modern bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and the lounge was lovely and relaxing with all the mod cons. We found it excellent value for money."

"In a quiet area close to the city, a nice hotel, at present with building work for a new Spa centre. Our room was traditionally furnished and decorated, the bathroom modern, both very clean, but no extra touches. The buffet breakfast has good continental choices.
It was a quiet and comfortable stay and we will probably re-visit when all the work is complete."
